About the Role
Dash Technologies is a US-headquartered software services company building AI-first solutions for healthcare and enterprise clients. We are looking for a Director of Engineering who can lead both technical engineering excellence and delivery execution in a fast-paced services environment — with deep fluency in the US healthcare ecosystem.
This is the senior-most engineering and delivery role in the organization. It reports directly to the CEO, and the entire engineering and delivery organization — approximately 130 team members (direct and indirect reports) — reports into this role, including 12–15 US-based team members managed remotely from India. The role owns a portfolio of approximately 20 customers, of which five are blue-chip accounts requiring direct engagement with client CEOs and CIOs. The portfolio is approximately 70% US healthcare engagements and 30% other technology engagements.
This role is a member of the company's leadership team and participates in all monthly and quarterly business reviews. This is not a 9-to-5 job — it demands an always-on ownership mindset, with genuine care for customers and an unwavering commitment to delivery.

This role is responsible for building AI-first engineering capabilities while ensuring high-quality, predictable delivery across multiple US client engagements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader with strong delivery discipline, proven US healthcare domain experience, and exceptional people and client management skills — the ability to build genuine, lasting relationships with team members, clients, and senior client executives is mandatory for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership
  • Lead the entire engineering and delivery organization — approximately 130 direct and indirect reports, including engineering managers, tech leads, and delivery teams
  • Directly manage 12–15 US-based team members from India, ensuring cohesion, accountability, and performance across geographies
  • Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable, secure, high-quality software systems
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices across teams
  • Mentor engineering managers, tech leads, and senior developers
  • Ensure strong code quality, system performance, and reliability

Healthcare Domain Leadership
  • Bring a working understanding of the US healthcare innovation value chain — providers, payers, MedTech, digital health, and life sciences
  • Guide teams building on and integrating with EMR/EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, athenahealth, MEDITECH) and healthcare data systems
  • Champion interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) and healthcare data exchange patterns across client solutions
  • Ensure solutions are designed for HIPAA compliance, PHI security, and healthcare regulatory requirements (including awareness of FDA SaMD pathways where relevant)
  • Translate healthcare workflows (clinical, revenue cycle, quality reporting, patient engagement) into sound technical architecture and delivery plans

AI & Innovation
  • Drive adoption of AI/ML, LLMs, and intelligent automation across projects, including healthcare-specific AI use cases
  • Build reusable AI accelerators and frameworks to improve delivery efficiency
  • Enable teams to leverage AI-assisted development tools
  • Partner with leadership to define and execute AI-driven service offerings

Delivery Ownership
  • Own end-to-end delivery across multiple US client projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality
  • Implement strong execution frameworks (Agile, sprint discipline, milestone tracking)
  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and escalations

Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Own and manage a portfolio of approximately 20 customers, including five blue-chip accounts requiring direct interaction with client CEOs and CIOs and proactive expectation management
  • Act as the key interface between US clients, engineering teams, and the CEO
  • Build genuine personal relationships with clients and client executives (C-level and senior officers) — relationship-building and client management skills are mandatory
  • Participate in all monthly and quarterly business review meetings as a member of the leadership team
  • Travel to the US frequently (2–3 times per year) for client meetings, executive reviews, and relationship development
  • Communicate technical and healthcare-domain concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure high satisfaction
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO on delivery status, risks, and outcomes

Resource Management
  • Allocate and optimize engineering resources across projects
  • Ensure the right skills are aligned to the right work
  • Drive high utilization while supporting team growth and development
  • Partner with HR and leadership on hiring and capacity planning
  • Own hiring and establish a structured training and academy program to keep building a new pipeline of talent

Operational & Financial Excellence
  • Own delivery metrics including velocity, quality, utilization, and timelines
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivery efficiency and project margins
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization
  • Support business growth through better delivery capability and client outcomes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 15–20 years of experience in software engineering and delivery management within a software services or product development environment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering software for US healthcare clients — providers, payers, MedTech, or digital health companies
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare innovation value chain, including EMR/EHR ecosystems, interoperability (HL7/FHIR), HIPAA/PHI compliance, and clinical and operational workflows
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent software projects for US-based clients
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML technologies, LLMs, and AI-assisted development practices
  • Must already be a heavy, daily user of AI tools in their own work — hands-on, everyday AI use is expected from day one (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, product management, and operations
  • Experience managing US-based team members remotely from India (mandatory)
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills — proven ability to build and retain high-performing teams (mandatory)
  • Exceptional relationship-building and client management skills, including comfort engaging directly with C-level client executives (CEOs, CIOs) (mandatory)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the US 2–3 times per year (valid passport required; US visa or visa eligibility strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project)
  • PMP, SAFe, or other relevant certifications preferred

Key Competencies
  • Strategic thinking and planning
  • Team management and people leadership
  • Relationship-building — with team members, clients, and senior client executives
  • US healthcare domain fluency and client empathy
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Financial and budget management expertise
  • Risk management and conflict resolution
